Post image for Safilo reorganizes and looks forward

In the first three months of this year sales of Safilo decreased with 4% compared to the first quarter of last year. Net profit decreased with almost 35% to 12 million euro. Especially the phase-out of the Armani licenses had a negative effect on the global sales. At the same time the company seems to be on track for the future. It acquired Polaroid, introduced the new licensed collections of Céline worldwide, closed another few non-performing stores and saw the others, mainly in America increase business. Tommy Hilfiger, Boss Orange and Marc by Marc Jacobs were among the best performing brands while Carrera is still top of the bill in the United States and Latin-America. As planned, the last brand has recently been introduced in China as well. In Europe, Italy and other South European countries still show poor figures whereas Germany and France did well just like Russia which showed another quarter with double-digit growth figures.
