Just like Luxottica, Safilo as well reports an increase in sales in the second quarter of this year. This was partly thanks to the positive contribution of the Polaroid collection and the exchange rates. The loss of the Armani collections had a negative impact on the sales. Sales in the second quarter totaled 324,6 million euro compared to 302,6 million in the same period last year. In the first half of this year sales totaled 613,3 million euro compared to 603,3 million in the first half of 2011. Net profit in the first six months totaled 21,5 million euro. America did very well, Southern Europe and Japan stayed behind. Sunglasses are the most important product for Safilo.
