Every year during the World Economic Forum at Davos, Corporate Knights, publishes the Global 100 Most Sustainable Companies in the World ranking. Corporate Knights is a Canadian companying which aims to get a better world by publishing a lot of information about the largest companies in the world. Sustainability is ranked by using well defined parameters which not only feature the environment, the use of natural sources and the production of waste but also, for example, the relation between the payment of the top managers and the people in the factories. Essilor enters this year at rank 70. The number one position is for the Belgium company Umicore. Dutch companies Philips and ASML are ranked 7 and 11.
