After Safilo and Luxottica, Marcolin as well published its sales figures for the first three months of this year. Luxottica with its strong growth once again proves to be the exception to the rules. Marcolin was happy to keep its sales, with 63,5 million euro for the quarter, more or less at the same level as in the first three months of 2011. Net profit slightly decreased as well. Europe, with Italy itself in the first place, showed a 15% decrease in sales. All other parts of the world did well with solid increases up to more as 30% in Asia. The license for the production and distribution of the Ferrari collection has been expired, John Galliano did not very well but the introduction of the new Diesel collection was very successful.
