Compared to eyewear, bags and shoes drew much more attention last week in Milan where the Fashion Week took place. Despite the importance of eyewear for Italy, we saw just a few “signature” pieces at the catwalks and in line with what we wrote last week, it all wasn’t very inspiring. Versace and Gucci chose for cat-eyes, Prada for retro which fitted perfectly to the showed clothes but different from the last shows, these sunglasses were rather ordinary and certainly no collector’s items like the former showpieces were. Max Mara showed oversized acetate styles which we have seen season after season already and only Moschino dared to show something different with a large shield which hold a leather patch covering part of the face. Funny but certainly not trendsetting.
