In the first nine months of this year Essilor realized an increase in sales of 1,4% compared to the same period last year. In the third quarter the increase was 0,7%. The year over negative currency effects and a strong euro influenced the results. At unchanged currency rates the increase in the third quarter would have been 7,1%. The slow recovery of the economy, the loss of a few large accounts and the strong results in the previous year, are some of the reasons for the limited growth. The company continues its strategy of innovations and acquisitions and expects an increase of 6% for the full year of 2013.
